FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is integrative counseling?

Integrative counseling is a personalized approach that considers the whole person—not just a diagnosis or a specific concern. It recognizes that emotional wellness is connected to many areas of life, including thoughts, emotions, relationships, physical health, lifestyle, values, and personal experiences.

My approach combines evidence-based counseling practices with integrative mental health principles to help clients better understand themselves, develop effective coping strategies, and create meaningful, sustainable change.

What does “whole-person” mental health mean?

Whole-person mental health recognizes that we are more than our thoughts and emotions alone. Mental wellness can be influenced by our physical health, stress levels, relationships, environment, personal values, and sense of purpose.

Together, we explore the different areas of your life that may be impacting your well-being and identify practical strategies that support greater balance, resilience, and growth.

What is your counseling style?

My counseling style is warm, supportive, collaborative, and focused on personal growth. I believe many individuals benefit from having a confidently supportive person walk alongside them during stressful or transitional seasons of life.

Counseling is a partnership. My role is to help you gain insight, develop tools, explore possibilities, and create meaningful change while honoring your unique experiences and values.

Who do you work with?

I primarily work with:

  • Women navigating stress, life transitions, and personal growth

  • LGBTQ+ individuals seeking affirming and supportive counseling

  • Individuals experiencing burnout, overwhelm, or major life changes

  • Professionals, caregivers, and individuals carrying significant responsibilities

  • Individuals seeking greater balance, self-awareness, and emotional wellness

If you are unsure whether my services are the right fit, I encourage you to schedule a consultation.

Do you provide LGBTQ+ affirming counseling?

Yes. I provide affirming and supportive counseling for LGBTQ+ individuals. My goal is to create a space where clients feel respected, understood, and comfortable exploring their experiences, identity, relationships, challenges, and personal growth.

Each person’s journey is unique, and I approach counseling with compassion, curiosity, and respect.

Do you incorporate spirituality into counseling?

Spirituality can be an important part of some people’s wellness journey, while others may not identify with spirituality at all. I believe spirituality is deeply personal and should always be approached with respect and client preference.

If spirituality is meaningful to you, we can explore how your beliefs, values, and sense of purpose may support your overall wellness. If spirituality is not part of your personal framework, that is equally respected.

Service Questions

What is the difference between traditional counseling and concierge counseling?

Traditional counseling provides consistent scheduled therapy sessions focused on emotional wellness, personal growth, coping skills, and therapeutic goals.

Integrative Concierge Counseling provides a higher-touch level of support for individuals seeking a more personalized wellness partnership, increased accessibility, and additional support between sessions.

Both approaches are individualized and designed to support meaningful growth.

What is included in Integrative Concierge Counseling?

The Integrative Concierge Counseling Experience includes:

  • Four 60-minute counseling sessions per month

  • Priority scheduling

  • Secure messaging support between sessions

  • Personalized wellness planning

  • Integrative mental health consultation

  • Ongoing accountability and support

This service is designed for individuals who desire a more comprehensive and personalized approach to mental wellness.

What is a counseling intensive?

A counseling intensive is a focused, immersive therapeutic experience designed for individuals who want dedicated time to explore challenges, gain clarity, and create meaningful progress.

Rather than spreading therapeutic work across multiple weekly sessions, an intensive provides six hours of concentrated support in one day.

What happens during a counseling intensive?

Each intensive is customized to your goals and needs. A typical intensive includes:

  • Pre-intensive preparation and goal setting

  • Exploration of current concerns and patterns

  • Identification of strengths and resources

  • Integrative wellness assessment

  • Development of coping strategies and tools

  • Personalized action planning

The day includes two three-hour counseling sessions separated by a one-hour integration break to allow time for reflection, rest, and processing.

What is the Energy Dollar™ Life Coaching Program?

The Energy Dollar™ Life Coaching Program is an eight-week personal development experience designed to help individuals become more intentional with their time, energy, attention, and priorities.

The framework compares your daily minutes to dollars in a bank account, helping you identify where you are spending, investing, and gambling your energy.

This coaching experience focuses on personal growth, accountability, intentional living, and creating a life aligned with your values.

Why can you provide coaching nationwide but not counseling nationwide?

Counseling and coaching are different services with different professional requirements.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I can only provide clinical counseling services to individuals located in states where I hold an active license. Currently, I provide counseling services to clients located in:

  • Missouri

  • Idaho

  • South Dakota

  • North Carolina

Life coaching is not considered clinical mental health treatment and does not have the same state licensure restrictions. Because of this distinction, coaching services may be available to individuals nationwide.

If you are interested in services and are unsure which option is the right fit, a consultation can help determine the best path forward.

  • Integrative Counseling Intensives

Travel fees are discussed and agreed upon prior to scheduling to ensure complete transparency and a personalized experience.

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes. Secure telehealth counseling is available for clients located in states where I am licensed.

Current counseling states include:

Getting Started

How do I get started?

The first step is scheduling a complimentary 15-minute consultation.

This brief consultation allows us to:

  • Discuss what brings you to counseling or coaching

  • Answer questions about services

  • Determine which option may best fit your goals

  • Review scheduling, location, and next steps

The consultation is an opportunity to ensure we are a good fit before beginning services.

What happens after the 15-minute consultation?

If we determine that my services align with your needs, we will discuss the next steps for beginning your chosen service.

This may include:

  • Scheduling your first counseling appointment

  • Beginning your concierge counseling experience

  • Planning your counseling intensive

  • Enrolling in the Energy Dollar™ Life Coaching Program

My goal is to make the process clear, comfortable, and personalized from the beginning.

What if I am not sure which service is right for me?

That is completely normal. Many individuals are unsure whether traditional counseling, concierge counseling, an intensive, or coaching best fits their current goals.

The consultation process is designed to help clarify your needs and identify the level of support that aligns best with where you are today.

How do I know if we are a good fit?

A strong therapeutic or coaching relationship is built on trust, connection, and shared goals.

My goal is to provide a compassionate, integrative experience where you feel seen, supported, and empowered.

If you are looking for personalized support that honors the connection between mental wellness, personal growth, and intentional living, we may be a good fit.
